Description

Brighid’s Kiss” LUG CD961

Voted “Album of the Year”  1996 by readers of The Irish Music Magazine

La Lugh was essentially the husband-and-wife team of Gerry

O’Connor (fiddle) and the Eithne Ni Uallachain (vocals, flute).

Ni Uallachain’s exceptional and much missed singing is

prominently featured on this 1995 release, a concept album

created around the theme of the Irish religious figure Brighid.

Although Ni Uallachain was also a most capable flute

and whistle player, it is O’Connor’s energetic fiddle playing

which tends to dominate in the arrangements of the

instrumental tracks.
